What "implant price" Actually Covers

"Implant price" can mean the screw placed in the bone, or the whole treatment. Two figures cannot be compared directly unless their scope matches. The implant, the abutment and the tooth made on top can be separate line items.

This page does not give a fixed figure, and no figure given before an examination would be reliable. A current fee is explained together with the procedures identified at examination and the prosthetic plan. Two quotes cannot be compared directly unless their scope is the same.

What the Quote Should List

• the region being treated and the number of implants

• the implant system and abutment, and the extent of the surgery

• the imaging and planning required

• extraction, bone or soft tissue support if needed

• the type of temporary tooth, and the material of the final crown or bridge

• reviews, maintenance and the terms for any repair

Not every patient needs all of these. Which items are included and which are excluded, how long the quote is valid, and how you will be told if the plan changes, should all be set out in writing.

What Changes the Total

A single tooth and a full arch are not the same scope. The implant system used, the design of the prosthesis and any additional procedures all affect the total. If a surgical guide or a different anaesthetic arrangement is planned, that scope should be stated too.

Insurance and Payment

An agreement between a clinic and an insurer does not mean every implant and prosthetic step is covered by your policy. Cover has to be confirmed separately for the treatment, the institution, the branch and your own policy terms.

If instalments or staged payments exist, the current terms are explained at the consultation; this page does not commit to any particular payment option. Reimbursement eligibility must be verified individually.

If You Are Travelling for Treatment

A treatment quote is not the whole cost. Travel, accommodation, time away from work and a possible second trip sit outside it entirely, and should be added before comparing anything.

Two points matter more than the total. The FDA notes complications can occur soon after placement or much later, and that failure is usually defined as looseness or loss, which may need another surgical procedure. So settle in writing, before you book: who reviews you after you return and how often; what is covered if a component loosens or fails, and for how long; and who pays for any return trip.

Ask also for the brand and model of the implant system to be recorded, as the FDA advises — a local dentist will need it if anything has to be serviced at home.

A fixed number of days or trips cannot be promised before examination. How long you need to be here depends on what the assessment finds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a firm price over WhatsApp?

A first conversation can cover the process and what information is needed. Defining the scope requires clinical assessment; photographs alone do not reveal every additional procedure.

Is the temporary tooth included?

It should be stated explicitly. Whether a temporary is appropriate, and which type, also depends on your individual plan.

Why do quotes differ so much between clinics?

Usually because they cover different things. Ask both for the same line items before concluding anything about price.

Does a more expensive system last longer?

That does not follow. Longevity is governed mainly by the biology around the implant and by maintenance — see how long implants last.
